The HearPeers program is a unique opportunity
to help cochlear implant candidates, recipients and other interested persons by
sharing your experiences. All MED-EL users are welcome to join – please
note that ONLY recipients of a MED-EL cochlear implant or parents of a child with
a MED-EL cochlear implant may join HearPeers.
After filling
out the basic profile information, you are encouraged
to include a CI recipient’s story. The CI
recipient’s story is a way of introducing yourself and providing background
information about your cochlear implant journey. After submitting, MED-EL will
review the information you have provided and notify you when your profile has
been accepted and added to the database on the HearPeers website. Other
individuals will then be able to contact you via the e-mail address you provide.
To protect your privacy, only first names and first initials of last
names of CI recipients are shown on the HearPeers website. Your personal
e-mail address will not be shown. The HearPeers website is used to establish
initial contact. Any further correspondence is conducted at your discretion.
